Kurt Marquart and Elaine de la Mata, also known as Monkey Doodle Dandy are illustrators and toy inventors who have just successfully licensed one of their characters designs – Squaredy Cats™to be made into plush toys. In this interview the duo talk about their process of getting ideas and how they went about getting their idea licensed, including using a licensing agent. What was really clever was the way they used facebook to work out the target market for their characters and to build up a following for them even before the toys were produced. You can hear more about this in the interview.

Hi Sara, I think so too
Great idea, they seem to have their own characteristics, one looks like a cheerleader? Can’t wait to see the podcast, I have two little girls in mind for these cats!
